WHERE IT WILL HAPPEN

The geographical areas included are Anglesey, much of Gwynedd, Conwy and south Denbighshire Council areas. Specific areas have been selected if

1. They contain suitable early houses, and / or

2. There are local volunteers wishing to participate in the Project.

WHO WILL DO IT

SPECIALIST Dendrochronologists will be contracted to select, sample and provide felling dates for as many suitable timbers in appropriate houses as funding permit.

Specialist architectural surveyors will be contracted to undertaken appropriate recording of sampled buildings.

Specialist architectural artists will be contracted to undertaken visual recording and reconstructions of selected buildings.

VOLUNTEERS will be trained in their chosen activities to:-

1. Undertake documentary research to provide house and family histories for the buildings sampled.

2. Assist the dendrochronologists, surveyors and artists as appropriate.

3. Liaise with house owners.

4. Prepare materials for leaflets, report, displays, talks and guided visits.

5. Present talks and lead guided visits.

TEACHERS will prepare learning materials to complement Key Stage 2: The Tudors with local and regional material.


WHEN and WHERE IT WILL START

Phase 1 September 2009 to March 2011

Mainly in Anglesey, South Denbighshire and Gwynedd-Arfon/Dwyfor

Phase 2 April 2010 to March 2012

Also Gwynedd-Merioneth

Phase 2 April 2011 to March 2012

Also Conwy


HOW IT WILL BE PAID FOR

Actual costs will be met using the various grants received for this purpose from grant-aiding organisations, partnerships, locally raised funds and donations. The in-kind equivalent costs calculated from the time committed to the Project by volunteers count as matched funding for some of the financial grants.
